Former energy attorney at Baker Botts LLP, Mark Robeck, has joined Kelley Drye & Warren LLP’s energy practice as Partner in the Washington, D.C. office. Robeck, widely recognized for representing energy clients in a broad array of dispute and litigation, brings with him nearly 25 years of experience in the energy sector. He told the media that he was ‘happy’ to take on a new challenge at Kelley Drye after his extensive career at Baker Botts.

Robeck represents a wide range of energy companies. These include domestic and international oil and gas producers and marketers, coal producers and wholesale power generators, and gas and electric utilities. His experience extends to complex commercial disputes, oil and gas royalty and operations disputes, personal injury tort claims, lease disputes, environmental and real property damage claims, price manipulation investigations and class actions, securities claims and criminal investigations.

According to Lew Rose, Managing Partner of Kelley Drye’s Washington, DC office, Mark’s broad range of experience will complement and enhance their energy regulatory and project development practices and further strengthen their deep litigation bench. In a statement to the media, he praised Robeck’s experience saying that the energy attorney had developed his practice in “one of the world’s most active and dynamic industries.”

Delighted on joining Kelley Drye during a time of significant expansion in the U.S. energy industry, Robeck said, “I was drawn by the firm’s emphasis on client service, from identifying the right mix of experience to best address clients’ legal issues to flexible and predictable fee agreements. With a strong sense of teamwork, the firm’s top-tier regulatory lawyers with in-depth industry knowledge make Kelley Drye ideally suited to provide indispensable counsel to my clients.”

According to Kelley Drye, Robeck’s practice will complement the law firm’s existing industry clients that include the world’s largest refiners to “innovative” renewable energy producers.
