Mayer BrownMayer Brown announced at the beginning of April that it was deferring most incoming associates to January, 2010, with a deferral stipend of $5,000 per month.

Now the firm has decided to allow associates to voluntarily extend their deferral to October 2010, with the $5,000 a month payment and health benefits. A public interest fellowship is not required, although a program will be offered.
