A British man, Robert Fryer has been convicted of raping his girlfriend on and off for over two years, taking advantage of her while she was asleep and also painting her nails and decking her up in jewelry, during the time. And of course, taking photos of his acts, without finding which, the girlfriend would have never known of his nature.
Apparently Fryer would sedate his girlfriend, Naomi Hampson, 27, and have sex with her while she was asleep, and record his acts on his computer. Fryer’s defense told the Nottingham Crown Court that Fryer, who is a policeman’s son, suffers from a syndrome called “sleeping princess syndrome†or somniphilia.
The victim, Hampson, has recently waived her anonymity and come forward to speak to the world about her ordeals. Fryer, from Thugarton, had pleaded guilty in August to three charges of rape and one charge of assault by penetration. He also admitted to have subjected another woman to the same treatment. He got eight years in prison.
That none of his victims could ever remember what had occurred even though when they woke up they were without knickers, dolled up in jewelry and with nails painted and manicured, led the court to believe that Fryer had been drugging his girlfriends.
During the sentencing, Judge Jonathan Teare said, “I have to approach the sentence on the basis that you did administer either alcohol or drugs to both of these girls, and that you took complete advantage of their unconsciousness.â€
The police were tipped off by a man to whom Fryer had boasted of his activities. He also bragged that he had taken photos and saved them on his computer. The police searched his home and found incriminating images. It was only after being showed the images that his girlfriend became aware of what had been going on for two years of her life.
Hampson told the media that the police showed her the photographs in May. “I was either naked or my dress had been pulled up … It was horrific,†she said.
