“When Lawyer.com first reached out to me, I was confused, a little scared, because I thought I was in trouble. But when they asked me to be their spokesperson, I was intrigued. After meeting with the team, I realized Lawyer.com is just about helping people,” Lohan said.

Lohan has famously faced numerous legal troubles, which include her suing Grand Theft Auto V for allegedly stealing her likeness, her suing Fox News for defamation, and her being arrested multiple times.

Lohan was on probation for eight years, and she was released from it in 2016. Just two years after she was let off, the actress announced that Lawyer.com had made her their spokesperson.

In the video, Lohan joked, “Lawyer.com is about protecting people. From getting a DUI — let’s not pretend like I didn’t get one … or two or three or some others.”

Lohan rose to prominence after the hit film “Mean Girls,” but the fame and money lured her into the wild Hollywood scene which ultimately destroyed her career. Since 2007, she has been arrested for driving under the influence, reckless driving, and shoplifting. She was convicted in the three cases.

Lohan was ordered to attend rehab several times, and she got into trouble for skipping counseling sessions, failure to perform court-ordered community service, and relapsing.

Lawyer.com was acquired in 1998 by co-founder Gerald Gorman, according to the company website. Similar to Avvo, its purpose is to help potential clients find lawyers. (For lawyers looking to connect with law firms, click here.)

“We already help thousands of consumers each week, but millions more could use Lawyer.com to avoid the frustration of antiquated lawyer search methods” said Gerald Gorman, Lawyer.com CEO. “With Lindsay’s help, many more consumers can delight in the ease and speed of our services. Our team is already benefiting from Lindsay’s world class experience and we have many exciting plans for the 12 month engagement.”

According to the press release, Lohan received compensation that includes stock options in the company. She has signed on to be their spokesperson for one year.
