One witness, Antoine Wilson described how he found himself in the middle of the gunfire. He told KTRK, “I didn’t realize I was right there by the shooter. Gunshots, I literally hear the gunshots pass may face, ‘cause I’m leaning out the window looking, trying to see.”

Another witness told his wife on the phone as he pulled into the strip mall, “I am shot. I am shot. I could see the red last; it was directed to my head.”

Images of the cars caught in the crossfire near the scene showed the evidence of what had happened. Shattered glass and bullet-riddled windshields were on numerous cars. The entire shooting went down on the street near a strip mall in the southwest area Houston called West University Place.

DeSai attended law school at the University of Tulsa. He ran his own private practice – Nathan DeSai Attorney At Law. He had been admitted to practice in Texas since 1999. He was also admitted to practice law in Oklahoma. He was admitted in the U.S. Supreme Court, Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Texas Southern District/Bankruptcy Court.
