In Nevada, an airport baggage handler who was fired for an incident relating to an animal abuse report has been authorized to return to work. During the original incident, the handler saw a bloody and emaciated dog and was fired after calling animal control agents to its aid. Observers say the offer to rehire puts the employer in a helpful legal position if they were to face a claim by the handler for wrongful termination. The company has also pledged donations to various animal rights organizations, like the Nevada Humane Society, over the next three years.
