Corporate Counsel is hosting a one-day Focus Europe Summit on Nov. 18 at The Concierge Conference Center in New York City. The conference will provide general counsel, investors and law firm partners with legal and regulatory analysis from top tier law firms in Europe.
Anthony Paonita, editor-in-chief of Corporate Counsel, explained the purpose of the summit in a press release: “Cross-border transactions are fundamental to so much U.S. investment that in-house counsel are looking for new networks and resources to navigate specific legal and regulatory challenges around the globe.”
According to Corporate Counsel, the European Union and the U.S. bilateral trading and investment relationship accounts for about half of the world’s economy with transatlantic flows amount to around $1 billion a day.
Key topics and speakers will include:
“Italy After the Recession: A Solid Market for U.S. Investors.” Denis Fosselard of Legance, reviews the country outlook for 2011, M&A law, Italian regulators and cross-border antitrust regulations.
“The Do’s and Don’ts of Investing in Sweden and the Nordic Region.” Malcolm Wiberg of Lindahl, takes a practical look at specific legal and cultural issues in the Nordic region.
