The law firm of White & Case has announced that it has opened a services center in Tampa, according to The Tampa Bay Times. The center has created close to 100 jobs.
The law firm has offices in 26 countries across the globe, but the center consolidates multiple aspects of the firm’s business and legal support services. The center is located in the Tampa Bay Business park on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Some of the firm’s employees are being relocated from New York to Tampa to work in the center. The firm is also recruiting employees from the area to work at the center.
“Our goal is to create a services center that serves the needs of our clients and improves overall efficiencies,” Victor Núñez, Americas chief operating officer for White & Case, said in a statement. “We have hit the ground running.”
The firm did not provide a solid number of how many new jobs would be created at the center, but filings with the government show that some 100 jobs will be created. There is an incentive package of $3,000 per job.
The total incentive package will be worth $300,000, with $60,000 coming from the Tampa City Council. The remaining $240,000 will come from the state of Florida. The incentives will be paid over the span of six years so long as the jobs promised are actually created.
