Yassky earned his law degree from Yale and has taught in the past at New York University Law School and Brooklyn Law School.

“This is going to be a ball,” he said on Wednesday during an interview. “What could be more fun than working at a law school at this moment?”

Prior to heading the Taxi and Limousine Commission, Yassky worked as the chief counsel to the House of Representatives Subcommittee on Crime. He also was a member of the New York City Council.

Yassky also added: “The core point — that educating highly competent and highly ethical lawyers is a core part of our society — is true and will remain true.”

Pace is ranked 134th in the recent survey of top law schools by U.S. News.

Yassky said in regards to the ranking that, “The mandate is to think creatively about how Pace has to adapt with the changes in the profession.”
