Chief Keef Sued by Middle School Student for Child Support

Chief Keef, a 17-year-old rapper, is being sued by a middle school student for child support. The student claims that Keef, whose real name is Keith Cozart, fathered a baby girl with her back in 2011. The girl’s name and age have not been released, but according to court documents, the girl attends a middle school in Chicago.

TMZ reported the story, saying that at most, the girl was in 8th grade when she became pregnant, but could have been in a grade as low as sixth at the time.

Cozart has worked with Kanye West, Rick Ross, and Young Jeezy so far in his career. When he impregnated the girl he was 15.
It is a misdemeanor in Illinois for two people under the age of 17 to have sex. It is still a misdemeanor even if the relationship is considered consensual. When both of the people involved are between the ages of nine and 17, the older person in the relationship has committed a crime called “criminal sexual abuse.”

Any person convicted of the crime can be sentenced to a maximum of one year in jail and be required to register as a sex offender for 10 years. Keef could face a judge if the parents of the girl press charges against him.

Keef is being sued by the girl for health insurance, medical expenses, and an undisclosed amount  of child support. Keef has been in legal trouble in the past, being sentenced recently to 60 days in juvenile detention for violating probation on a gun charge.
