Wiley Rein Cuts Salaries for Underperforming Associates

Wiley ReinWiley Rein is bumping down underperforming associates to a lower salary track.

Associates not on track to bill 1,950 hours in Q1 2009 will be involuntarily moved to the 1,800-hours track, which has a base salary of $125,000.

The 1,950-hour track pays $160,000.

Associates receive deferred compensation if they bill 1,950 hours; and the firm provides half the deferred compensation for those who reach 1,875 billable hours.

Wiley Rein LLP is a Washington, DC law firm, founded in 1983 under the name Wiley, Johnson and Rein.
