Summary: Amber Heard donates her entire divorce settlement to charity, just days after her win.

Shutting down any naysayers who said she was just after money, Amber Heard has donated her entire $7 million divorce settlement to charity. This week, the actress and her movie star husband finally reached a conclusion to their bitter legal battle, and when the settlement was announced, Heard said publicly that she would donate the money. And she wasted no time proving herself truthful.

Heard will donate $3.5 million each to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“As described in the restraining order and divorce settlement, money played no role for me personally and never has,” Heard said. “I know these organizations will put the funds to good use and look forward to continuing to support them in the future. Hopefully, this experience results in a positive change in the lives of people who need it the most.”

The ACLU and the Children’s Hospital both issued statements, thanking Heard for her generosity.

“For years, we have worked through the courts and legislatures around the country to make sure that domestic violence victims are fully protected by the law and receive the government assistance they deserve,” Anthony Romero of the ACLU said. “We could not be more thankful for Ms. Heard’s support — she can be confident that this gift will help other women live safely and freely.”

The pair had settled their divorce on Tuesday. Depp agreed to pay her $7 million, and Heard agreed to drop her domestic violence suit against him. Afterwards, the two issued a joint statement that their volatile relationship was bound by love, and that neither party lied for financial gain during the divorce.

“Neither party has made false accusations for financial gain,” the statement said. “There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm.”
