Sofia Vergara Engaged to Nick Loeb

The actress from ‘Modern Family,’ Sofia Vergara, was recently spotted flashing an engagement ring on her ring finger during birthday celebrations on Monday. But is this for real this time? Vergara has been dating boyfriend Nick Loeb sporadically for the past couple of months. Unnamed sources close to the couple claim that they are not engaged yet.

“As of today, Sofia is not engaged,” an unnamed Mexico-based representative for Vergara said. Other sources have said that Vergara does not consider herself to be engaged yet either. Photos of the actress surfaced on the internet earlier this week that show Vergara sporting a ring that looks like an engagement ring. One source did confirm that the couple is engaged to Us Weekly on Tuesday.

Vergara, from Colombia, celebrated her 40^th birthday with her 90 closest family and friends for a week in Mexico. A source said that Vergara was “bouncing around and showing everyone the ring” while staying at the Rosewood Mayakoba resort. Loeb, 36, asked Vergara to marry him while the birthday group was sightseeing at the Mayan archaeological ruins of Chichen Itza. One of Vergara’s friends, Fernando Fiore, tweeted a photo of Vergara with the ring on her hand while she clutched a glass of wine. Some other pictures that surfaced on the internet this week are not as revealing. One of the pictures shows Vergara with her son Manolo and Loeb on the beach. You can see a dollar bill folded like a ring as it is perched on her finger.

The couple has been dating since 2010 and reportedly had broken up in May after they were ‘fighting for a long time.’ It appears that the couple got back together just a couple of weeks after splitting up.

“They have a crazy relationship,” one source said. “They break up and make up. They fight and make up hard!”

During the early part of June, the couple was eating with family and friends at Bagatelle restaurant on Little West 12th Street. Sources said that the couple was ‘being super cute and laughing a lot.’

“(They) laughed, flirted and shared long embraces throughout the night,” another diner said. If the couple actually is engaged, this will be the second time Vergara is married. She married her childhood sweetheart, Joe Gonzalez and split up with him in 1993. Loeb works as a politically active entrepreneur and the pair met in 2010 at a Golden Globes party.
