Democratic National Committee Easily Hacked Again

Summary: A second Guccifer has come forward claiming responsibility for hacking and stealing thousands of documents from the Democratic National Committee’s servers.

Guccifer 2.0 is claiming responsibility for the recent hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s servers. The elusive online vandal obtained documents during the hack, including a 237-page opposition research report on Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Guccifer 2.0 wrote in an email claiming responsibility saying, “Hi. This is Guccifer 2.0 and this is me who hacked Democratic National Committee. Guccifer may have been the first one who penetrated Hillary Clinton’s and other Democrats’ mail servers. But he certainly wasn’t the last. No wonder any other hacker could easily get access to the DNC’s servers.”

The hacker included other documents with the email such as donor lists and internal memos. The hacker also states that they have had access to the network for over a year, taking credit for taking “thousands of files and mails” that have been since given to Wikileaks.” It can be assumed that some of the information given to Wikileaks includes the secret documents from Hillary Clinton’s days as Secretary of State that Guccifer 2.0 claims to have stolen.

The Trump report dated December 19, 2015 covers a comprehensive review of his business career, personal life, and finances. The report begins as “One thing is clear about Donald Trump, there is only one person he has ever looked out for and that’s himself. Whether it’s American workers, the Republican Party, or his wives, Trump’s only fidelity has been to himself and with that he has shown that he has no problem lying to the American people. Trump will say anything and do anything to get what he wants without regard for those he harms.”

The DNC has acknowledged yesterday that there was a breach but insists no financial, personal, or donor information was accessed. They believe the penetration came from Russian government hackers.

The original Guccifer has pleaded guilty to federal felony charges, spurring Guccifer 2.0 to take action. He wrote “I stand against Guccifer’s conviction and extradition. I will continue Guccifer’s business and will fight all those illuminati the way I can. They should set him free!!!!”
