Hogan Lovells’ Los Angeles Office Receives a New Partner

Summary: With the addition of Stephanie Yonekura, former acting U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, the Investigations, White Collar and Fraud practice will be greatly strengthened.

The Los Angeles office of Hogan Lovells has added Stephanie Yonekura to their Investigations, White Collar and Fraud practice as a partner. Yonekura most recently served as the acting United States Attorney for the Central District of California, which the second largest U.S. Attorney’s office with the largest being in Washington D.C.

She will be working with clients in white collar defense, civil business litigation, and internal investigations. She will focus on cybercrime, national security matters, and securities and financial institution fraud.

Her former work includes being the head Federal Law Enforcement Officer for the USAO CDCA where she prosecuted securities fraud cases that resulted in multi-billion dollar settlements. These cases included financial institutions, Southern California CEOs, and case still pending against a former Major League Baseball Player.

Yonekura also served as the First Assistant United States Attorney for the Central District of California where she oversaw criminal cases involving securities fraud, public corruption, financial institution fraud, and civil rights violations. The civil cases dealt with the False Claims Act and the Financial Institution Reform, Recovery, and Enforcement Act.

She received her B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles in political science and her J.D. from the UCLA School of Law.
