Gregory Lewis is accused of raping a thirteen-year-old girl and then setting out on a crime spree across the United States.

Summary: A 26-year-old man who is accused of raping a teenage girl is now facing charges for a nationwide crime spree.

A Massachusetts man faces possible charges in several states after he fled his home state and allegedly committed violent crimes around the country, ABC News reports. Gregory Lewis, a 26-year-old man from Southbridge, was first accused of raping a 13-year-old girl. Lewis was arraigned for charges related to that crime in August, including statutory rape of a child. Rather than lay low, however, Lewis cut off his court-ordered GPS monitoring device and fled the state, spending six weeks on the run.

Law enforcement agencies report that Lewis fled Massachusetts on September 15. Lewis went on a road trip around the United States, and committed rapes and robberies against female escorts in Colorado, North Carolina, and Oregon. Mass Live reports that Lewis arranged meetings with escorts in various hotel rooms, in which he would cuff them, rob them at gunpoint, and sexually assault them. ABC News also reported that according to witness reports, Lewis said that his “ultimate goal†was to return to Massachusetts and kill the 13-year-old that accused him of raping her.

Lewis did briefly return to Southbridge. During his stint in his hometown, he tied up and assaulted his stepfather, and then stole a 9mm handgun and over 200 rounds of ammunition.
