Drug Dealers Arrested after Texting Police

Two alleged drug dealers were arrested Friday following a text message sent to a police officer in Meriden, Connecticut. The text offered to see 200 Percocet pills.

Lorriane Apuzzo, 19, sent the text by accident to a police officer around 3 p.m. As soon as the officer received the text he quickly thought to arrange a buy the exact same day. The buy occurred at a mall in Westfield with Apuzza and her friend, Frank Boemmels, 25 and undercover detectives.

During the buy, Apuzzo became suspicious, which led her to try and drive away from the scene. Officers were able to corner her vehicle and remove her from it by busting opening her windows.

Not only was Apuzza trying to sell drugs to the officers, she also tried to short them on the amount of pills in the deal, as officers found 100 Percocets on her person instead of 200 like her text said.

Not much later, Boemmels was handcuffed by officers in the mall. Both suspects were charged with criminal attempts to commit sales of narcotics in a school zone. Apuzzo was hit with first-degree reckless endangerment and interfering with an officer. Apuzzo was released on $50,000 bond and Boemmels is still being held on a $150,000 bond.
