Woman Rapes Taxi Driver Then Steals $32 from Victim

Summary: An Ohio woman and two men called a taxi to pick them up then proceeded to hold the driver at knifepoint while the woman performed a sex act on him, then stole the money from his wallet.

A 23-year-old Fremont, Ohio woman has been indicted for first-degree felony rape and aggravated robbery in Hancock County. Police allege that Brittany S. Carter, of the 1000 block of Shorewood Drive, raped and robbed a male taxi driver while an accomplice held the victim at knifepoint on January 28.

The two-count felony indictment alleges that the attack happened earlier this year in Findlay, about town around 40 miles south of Toledo. Police allege that “two black males and a white female” called for a taxi to pick them up at the Towne Place Suites on Tiffin Avenue at 4:24 am on the 200 block of Larkins Street. After the taxi driver picked them up, one of the passengers, Cory Jackson, put a knife to the throat of the 29-year-old driver.

While the Trinity Express Cab Service driver was held at knifepoint by 20-year-old Jackson, Carter performed a sex act on him. Before fleeing the taxi, Carter and Jackson stole the money from the driver’s wallet, a whopping $32. The driver was not physically injured in the incident, according to police. As soon as the suspects fled, the driver reported the attack to the police with warrants issued from Carter’s and Jackson’s arrests.

Findlay Detective Lt. Robert Ring said, “We don’t know why she did it. Maybe it was a distraction because they took money from him.” The indictment accuses Carter of “having purposely compelled” the victim to engage in a sexual activity “by force or threat of force.” Jackson was charged with aiding and abetting in the rape of the driver and aggravated robbery. The third passenger has not yet been identified so no charges have been filed. Hancock County Prosecutor Phil Riegle stated that no charges are anticipated.

Carter, a former hospital employee, is held at the Hancock County jail on $60,000 bond after being arraigned before Magistrate Elizabeth Behrendt of the Hancock County Common Pleas Court. Just last year she was indicted twice for felony drug charges. The two cases are still pending, according to court records. One case accuses her of possessing heroin while the other case alleges the allowed her vehicle to be used in the trafficking of heroin.

Jackson has not been arrested and is still at large. Ring said, “He has a warrant for his arrest for robbery with us and a murder warrant out of Lima.”

Do you think the rape of a male is a more common occurrence than is reported? Some surveys suggest that out of the reported rapes, the number of men being raped (outside of prison) is around 38 percent. Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
