Greenberg Traurig LLP Expands Its Dallas Location

Summary: Greenberg Traurig has rented over 35,000 square feet of space in Dallas’ recently updated skyscraper, Chase Tower.

According to the Dallas Business Journal, Greenberg Traurig, a Miami-based law firm, has leased additional areas in Dallas’ Chase Tower to meet its growing needs for extra office space.

Earlier this year, the firm added two shareholders to its Mexico City office.

The firm has leased over 35,000 square feet of office space, located on the 51st and 52nd floors of the building. The firm will also have the option to expand to the 53rd floor, Jon Coniglio, the managing shareholder of the Dallas office, explained.

Coniglio said, “We started in Dallas and have been in Chase Tower since 2005. This is definitely an area to stay and grow in and the opportunities to be part of Chase Tower and have an option to expand gives us the strategic flexibility we need. We certainly have a focus on bringing great legal talent here.”

In January, the firm opened an office in Tokyo.

Four new attorneys have been hired so far to join the Dallas office, and one more will soon be hired. The Dallas office will primarily deal with legal issues involving financial services, business litigation, and real estate law.

Coniglio said, “Dallas has been a sweet spot in the country and we have the opportunity to grow strategically. We see Texas as a great area.”

Greenberg Traurig employs over 100 attorneys in Texas in its Austin, Houston, and Dallas offices. In total, the firm has 37 offices and over 1,800 lawyers. The Dallas office, which was the firm’s first Texas office, has around 65 employees.

Ralph Santos, a shareholder at the firm, served as the real estate attorney during the lease renewal process.

Other law firms have also sought space in Chase Tower. Norton Rose Fulbright and Locke Lord have also rented space in the 55-story skyscraper, which boasts amenities such as a fitness center, upgraded common areas, and a conference center on the sky lobby floor.

Coniglio was named managing partner last October.

Coniglio said the updates were part of the building’s appeal. “The amenities that Chase Tower has created are really appealing. They have done a lot of things to create ongoing interest and it is very much appreciated.”
