Shia LaBeouf Arrested Yet Again, This Time in New York

On Thursday, Shia LaBeouf was arrested at Studio 54 in New York after lighting a cigarette and being disruptive during a showing of “Cabaret,” according to a report from CNN.

LaBeouf exited a courtroom in Manhattan on Friday after he was released on his own recognizance. He was charged with disorderly conduct, criminal trespass and harassment.

A prosecutor expressed concern about releasing the actor without bail, but the defense lawyer said that the media buzz from a failure to appear on July 24 would be too overwhelming for him to miss the court date.

LaBeouf was in the audience at the Broadway theater when he disrupted the show in its first act. Brian Sessa, a police spokesman, said that the actor was arrested after being disruptive and using obscene language. He was held overnight.

During his outburst this week he walked up to a woman at the bar in the theater, fed her a strawberry, and then tipped the bartender.

Two women who were in the audience told WABC that they thought he was part of the performance.

“He was brilliant,” one said. “I thought he was working on a role or something.”
LaBeouf was accused last year of plagiarising the work of another writer.
