Hinshaw & Culbertson Adds Alan Kaufman to New York Office

Alan Kaufman has joined the law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP in the New York office as a partner, according to a press release. Kaufman comes to the firm from McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP.

Kaufman has experience litigating cases in both New York and New Jersey state and federal courts. He operates a practice that focuses on breach of contract issues, business tort disputes, real estate issues, mortgage-backed securities, intellectual property infringement, appeals, insurance coverage disputes and creditors’ rights matters.

J. Richard Supple JR. is the partner-in-charge at the New York office. He said the following in the release: “Alan’s arrival provides our clients with a highly respected and experienced resource, having represented a wide range of companies in a number of commercial litigation matters. Alan brings with him a deep knowledge of the legal industry and an accomplished resume that will further advance the firm’s commitment to growth in this key market.”

Kaufman is a member of the In-House/Outside Counsel Litigation Group of the New York City Bar Association. He also belongs to the Mortgage Bankers Association and is on the Enforcement Committee for the International Trademark Association. Kaufman earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from Brandeis University. He is admitted to practice in the state and federal courts of New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. He has also worked at Thacher Proffitt & Wood LLP as an associate.

Jim Vassallo: Jim is a freelance writer based out of the suburbs of Philadelphia in New Jersey. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and minor in Journalism from Rowan University in 2008. While in school he was the Assistant Sports Director at WGLS for two years and the Sports Director for one year.
