Littler Adds Employment Law Team to its Office in Mexico City

The law firm of Littler Mendelson announced via a press release this week that it has added Dr. Ricardo Martinez-Rojas to its office in Mexico City. Martinez-Rojas will be a shareholder with the firm. He previously worked as a partner at Baker & McKenzie in the firm’s labor practice for some 35 years. His team comes with him to Mexico City. The team includes Alejandro Resendiz Tellez, Arsenio Farell Martínez, Carla Martínez Santiestevan and María Eunice Turral Botello.

Mexico City managing shareholder Oscar De la Vega, said the following in the release: “We are delighted to add Ricardo and his team to Littler’s Latin America platform. With more than three decades of experience, Ricardo has an impressive track record counseling clients on a broad range of complex labor and employment issues.  As we continue to help companies operating in Mexico navigate the substantial reforms to Mexican Labor Law, Ricardo’s knowledge of the local legal and business climate and extensive experience counseling on labor law matters further deepens our unparalleled capabilities to serve regional and multi-national companies in this area.”

Martinez-Rojas has a labor law practice that focuses on employment litigation, social security issues, collective conflicts, contracts and employee compensation and benefits.

Martínez-Rojas spoke about the leadership at the firm as a driving factor for him to join Littler, according to the release. “Littler is an obvious choice for me, as I have dedicated almost 35 years to labor and employment law and the firm is a recognized global leader in the space,” he said. “To be able to join such a talented, expansive attorney roster is a tremendous opportunity, for which I am most grateful.”

In a joint statement from the release, Littler co-managing directors Tom Bender and Jeremy Roth said the following:

“We continue to enhance our presence in Latin America by attracting experienced practitioners with strong ties in the region. Mexico’s growing economy has created new business opportunities for companies, along with new considerations for managing their workforces. Ricardo’s robust labor law practice will be a tremendous asset to our clients conducting business in the region.”
