Privacy and Data Protection Lawyer Eduardo Ustaran Joins Hogan Lovells

Leading European privacy and data protection lawyer Eduardo Ustaran has joined Hogan Lovells as a partner. He will be leading the European team of Hogan Lovellls’ global Privacy and Information Management practice. Ustaran will be based in the London office of Hogan Lovells.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Ustaran was the Head of Privacy and Information Law Group at Field Fisher Waterhouse for a decade. Eduardo Ustaran is ranked as a Leading Individual for data protection by Chamber UK, and has been named by Revolution magazine as one of the 40 most influential people in the growth of the digital sector in the UK.

His LinkedIn profile says, “Eduardo advises on the impact of EU data protection and e-commerce law on the operational activities of all types of organizations, including FTSE 100 companies and public sector bodies. He advises a number of international clients on the adoption of global privacy strategies and has experience of drafting and negotiating data protection Binding Corporate Rules.”

Speaking on Ustaran joining the law firm, Christopher Wolf, global Co-Head of Hogan Lovells Privacy and Information Management practice said, “We already have a strong privacy team in the US, London and in continental Europe, handling U.S., UK and multi-jurisdictional data protection projects. Eduardo will significantly boost our capabilities in this area.”

Wolf further said that, “ In particular, Eduardo has a highly-regarded track record in advising on complex and business-critical data protection issues, including his involvement in the development of the future EU data protection framework through his advisory role to the UK Ministry of Justice.”
