Morgan, Lewis & Bockius Announces New Hires

Law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius is expected to announce that it has hired Washington, D.C.–based Bingham energy partner Mark Williams, tax partner Daniel Nelson and investment management partner Gerald “Jerry” Kehoe in Boston, and corporate of counsel Ann Chamberlain in New York.

In 1882, the firm began to handle work for the United Gas Improvement Company, which became the largest gas and electric utility company in the United States, and is still a client today.

Francis Milone Morgan Lewis chairman said in a statement that the firm’s new hires will “enable us to serve better our growing list of clients focusing on energy and infrastructure investments around the world.” Ann Chamberlain, a former Bingham partner, reportedly had already updated her LinkedIn account as of Friday to reflect her new hire at Morgan Lewis. Records on file with the District of Columbia Bar have confirmed Mark Williams’ new role.

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius helped the Ukrainian government forge a $10 billion shale gas exploration and production agreement with energy giant Chevron late last year and clients include more than half of the Fortune 100 companies, including 9 of the top 10 and 16 of the top 20. The law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, was the original holder of the web domain name MLB.com. In September 2000 they made an agreement to transfer the domain name to Major League Baseball.
