McDonald’s Accidentally Gives out Thousands of Dollars Instead of Fast-food

How annoying when you order your McDonald’s only to find a McChicken instead of a burger, or no fries, or some other screw-up that just shouldn’t happen. It gets to the point where you really have to just open the bag as soon as they hand it to you and rudely check for them that your order is in fact in order.

Imagine the surprise of a couple from Hermitage, Tennessee, when they opened their drive-thru bag: they found thousands of dollars inside.

The hapless man at the window had apparently handed them a deposit.

It was “a fair amount of money. I could have gone shopping” laughed Stacye Terry, though she did not seriously consider taking the money, as the Huffington Post Reported. “The second that he said it was their deposit, my first thing was let’s get in the truck and take it back. There is no other way to have it. I could not live with myself.”

McDonald’s, prone to such errors, considering it overworks their underpaid employees, was duly grateful for the return of the money, saying in a statement:

“We are grateful for this customer and the action they took upon realizing our error. We are looking into why this mistake happened, but what is most important to us is knowing that we are part of a community with the values that were evidenced by this person’s actions.”
