No Bail and Release for Chris Brown

After another assault, Chris Brown and his bodyguard were released from jail on Monday. Charges were dropped to a simple assault misdemeanor charge stemming from a fight over the weekend. Chris Brown and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy spent 36 hours in a Washington jail, and when they entered a packed courtroom, they entered wearing leg irons and handcuffs. Brown and his bodyguard were facing felony assault charges, but the charges were later dropped; the singer and bodyguard were unshackled and released, according to CNN.

Chris Brown must report to his California probation officer within 48 hours of his release and must have no contact with the man he assaulted. He and his bodyguard are due to return to court on November 24th. Chris Brown’s attorney Danny Onorato told reporters after the court hearing, “Chris Brown committed no crime and his security acted only to secure Mr. Brown and his property. We are confident Mr. Brown will be exonerated of this charge.”

Brown and his bodyguard were facing a felony assault charge, according to the Washington Metropolitan police department. Already on probation for his felony/domestic violence conviction in 2009 for beating former girlfriend Rihanna, legal issues have gotten much bigger for the singer. Prosecutors in the Los Angeles district attorney’s office have no comment on the Chris Brown incident, but they are steadily watching Brown’s compliance with his probation. The singer has violated probation twice this year and another 1000 hours have been added to his community service sentence stemming back to his sentence for beating Rihanna.

Brown’s probation officer is preparing a report on the arrest for Los Angeles County Superior Court’s Judge James Brandlin, for a probation status hearing on November 20th. In the police report the alleged victim’s name is Isaac Adams Parker, age 20, of Beltsville, Maryland. Mr. Parker has not commented or taken any calls. Parker said the incident started as he tried to jump into a photo Mr. Brown was taking with a female fan on the sidewalk. He then claimed that Mr. Brown said “I’m not down with that gay s–t” and “I feel like boxing” then he said Mr. Brown punched him in the face with a closed fist.

Then Mr. Parker claimed the 6’5″ 240 lb. bodyguard stepped between them and also punched him in the face, and then pulled Chris Brown by the arm and lead him back to his tour bus. Mr. Parker was treated at a nearby hospital for a swollen and bruised nose then released. Brown and his bodyguard were arrested and taken to the Second District police station. They were later transferred to a central jail cell block for processing. Chris Brown was in Washington at The Park at Fourteen night club hosting a “home coming” party just four blocks away from where he was arrested. His camp and lawyers have not commented.
