Kanye’s Epic Rants Continue

Kanye West explained his most recent Twitter rant with another verbal rant on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Kimmel spoofed the uncensored hip hop singer’s BBC interview and became the center of a Twitter attack. However, being as cool as he is, Kanye agreed to appear on the live entertainment show to “talk it out.” Not only did they talk it out, they really “talked” it out. Or at least Kanye did and he was all smiles. He answered questions about his wardrobe, teeth, and the famous BBC interview, which he confessed was not just a cheap publicity stunt. Apparently he did it all for his own amusement.  He even commented on his relationship with reality personality Kim (Kardashian), with whom he has a daughter, North “Nori” West, born in June of this year. About Kim he said, “There’s no way that Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame.” That might be debatable.

He went on to talk about what celebrity means to him. ”I’m not running for office, I’m just here to make good music, make people feel good . . . for me, I’m a creative genius and there’s no other way to word it and I know you’re not supposed to say those things about yourself,” he told Kimmel.  He continued with, “I’m more of a messenger than a rapper . . . I could care less about any of these cameras, in all honesty. All I care about is my family,” according to Entertainment Weekly. That wasn’t the only comment he made about family, “The only luxury is time . . . the time you spend with your family. So this concept of luxury is improper to me.” It’s nice to see someone devoted to the idea of family for a change and Kanye remains friends with Kimmel. The late night talk show host revealed a photo of the performer posing with his father at a wedding. Kimmel added that, “A lot of times I think you bring it on yourself, this kind of misunderstanding about you,” but then he clarified it with, “I know this guy (Kanye West), he’s not a jerk.”

Kanye also had something interesting to say about the paparazzi even if it was a little egotistical – “We bring something of joy to the world . . . I should be respected and such when I walk on the street.” He also said, “I understand you gotta get your money, and it’s hard out here . . . it’s a lack of decency.” Note to all paparazzi – just leave people alone. He even compared himself to Steve Jobs and Jesus (yes, that Jesus), saying he “looks up” to them. Hey, everyone has their own role models. It’s a certainty that his fans look forward to more epic rants in the future.
