Joan Rivers Meets Match In Sassy Former Tenant

Things have gotten ugly between Joan Rivers, a “no-nonsense condo board president,” and one of her former tenants, Elizabeth Hazan. Rivers is seeking $200,000 in unpaid condo fees, whereas Hazan says the old broad sabotaged her stay.

“Her problem with me is that I’m young, she’s old, I’m beautiful, she’s ugly,” said 41 Hazan, who, by the way, seems neither young nor beautiful, except comparatively. “Without makeup she looks like the Joker in Batman.”

Despite her acidic wit, Rivers did not bother rejoining the nonsense.

“I can’t comment on what she’s saying” said attorney Kevin Smith. “I can tell you [the dispute] is over common charges, over $200,000 in unpaid fees and two prior actions pending. We’re looking at the latest lawsuit and preparing a response.”

Hazan is claiming that though she turned her condo into a showplace featured in Architectural Digest, Rivers “turned it into a house of horrors.”

“It’s personal between her and me. It’s been that way every since I moved in 2005. She spat in my face and called me a whore in front of my mother and brother when they were visiting me. Most mean woman you can imagine.”

She also alleges that Rivers “physically sabotaged” the condo by ripping out wires from the capable box, squeezing glue into locks, and stealing mail and packages.
