Rothgerber Joins Lewis to Be One of the West’s Best Firms

Two western law firms have joined together to be the best in the West, the long established and well instantiated Rothgerber, Johnson & Lyons, and the proficient and wide-ranging Southwest law firm Lewis and Roca, who together will front over 250 lawyers in nine offices in six states. Both firms see the union as an extensions of their powers and a complement to their limitations, rendering them one of the finest firms in the Western states. As of September 1, 2013, the two firms will be known as Lewis Roca Rothgerber LLP.

“Our growth into new markets is driven by our commitment to client service and our clients’ interest in gaining access to legal services throughout the West,” said Lewis and Roca’s Managing Partner Kenneth Van Winkle. “We found a solid partner in Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons and quickly realized our growth strategies aligned. Our two firms are strong apart, and we will be even stronger together.”

The well-settled and long-established Rothgerber desires the power to advise clients on projects from creation to completion, and the proficiency and wide-ranging powers of the new acquisition will deepen their ability to do so. Rothgerber Johnson & Lyons Chairman Frederick J. Baumann said the merger as an answer to clients who want access to wider legal counsel.

“Our clients have been expanding in the Southwest region for some time and encouraged us to find an opportunity to establish a presence there,” said Baumann. “With Lewis and Roca, we are partnering with a firm with an equally strong reputation in its practices and markets. Lewis and Roca shares not only our commitment to client service, but is a seamless fit strategically, culturally and professionally.”

With nine offices in Phoenix, Denver, Las Vegas, Tucson, Reno, Colorado Springs, Albuquerque, Silicon Valley, and Casper, the synthesized firms will hold quite a front in their competition, making them one of the strongest firms in the West.
