Thursday Thoughts

Good morning and Happy Thursday! It’s aaaaalmost the weekend! Almost! Today I have one class… at 4pm. I feel so useless. Already found some volunteer/probono law student jobs I might apply to. Can’t hurt the resume, right? Anyway, let’s get on to this week’s Thursday Thoughts!

1. Molly wanted to say “Hi” to you all. She says it’s been way too long since she’s been on the blog.

2. Staying in a house with other people for a month left me a little freaked out to sleep alone in my studio apartment. I had a creeped-out feeling when I went to bed my first night back, so I proceeded to block my door with my IKEA chair and my unpacked luggage. I’m sure reading Sharp Objects had nothing to do with it…

3. One of my new favorite drinks is this Honey Vanilla Chamomile tea with a splash of almond milk. So calming.

4. My first morning back (Sunday) I hadn’t gone to the grocery store so I ended up eating the weirdest bowl of oatmeal in my life. What did I mix in? Tuna and nutritional yeast (and salt & pepper). Weird, but also kind of good… Don’t judge.

5. I cleaned out my closet and drawers and had a serious clothing purge. I ended up with several bags that I needed to donate (this isn’t even all of it…). Now I just need a car and someone to help me…

6. Speaking of, I put a few items on Ebay (most of what I’m donating is Old Navy & Forever 21, or just old, which I knew wouldn’t re-sell for much). I’m hoping to make some money! Cross your fingers…

7. We’ve been having fabulous weather here in Chicago. I have no idea how cold it was in the morning when I walked to the gym (I literally was squirming trying to get away from the cold it was so awful), but here was the temp in the afternoon:

8. I wanted to join Heather’s book club on May Cause Miracles, but I just got the book a week and a half late… The book is set up with 40 days and you read a chapter for each day, so I can’t really catch up… Oh well. Going to just follow along a week behind! I’m not much of a mediator, but I figured it couldn’t hurt?

9. I’m super sad I can’t go to Blend Retreat (AGAIN) this year, since it’s the same weekend as my law school graduation and my whole family is coming in town. However, if you can go then you SHOULD! It sounds like it’s going to be awesome!

10. I finally got to catch up with this amazing lady yesterday. It had been months. Seriously. Reminded me how much I love my blog friends. Even this one who goes to get fro-yo without me. Really I’m just sad I haven’t seen her face yet in the 5 days I’ve been back.

When was the last time you cleaned out your closet?

Do you ever get creeped out when you’re sleeping somewhere alone?

Kathryn Wheeler: My name is Katie and I moved to Chicago in 2010 for law school and graduated in May 2013. I'm originally from Kansas City, MO and I did my undergrad at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. I started this blog in August of 2011 because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to write about my life in a way that other women could relate to and realize that they aren’t alone in many aspects of their lives.
