Bring it On’s Natina Reed Hit by Car and Killed

The details are still uncertain as to why Natina Reed, of the 1990s girl band Blaque, who has played in the movie “Bring it On,” was standing in the roadway Oct. 26, but she was accidentally struck and killed by a motorist. The police found the driver “was determined to be not at fault and there are no pending charges.” The driver had immediately dialed 911 after the accident, which took place at 10:30 p.m., and Reed was declared dead at 10:59 p.m.

Reed was just a few days short of her 33 birthday, and she leaves many projects of her active career undone, such as a possible reunion of Blaque, who had hits like “808,” and “Can’t Get it Back,” and work in a new movie.

Williams and Feard-DeVoe of Blaque issued a joint statement:

We are devastated by the loss of our group member, sister and friend Natina Reed. Because of the enormous support of Blaque fans and our love for each another, Blaque officially reunited this fall and we were in the process of working on a new album and a reality show. Natina continuously embodied the pioneering spirit of Blaque and her undeniable creativity touched the hearts of fans everywhere. Natina was a mother, sister, accomplished songwriter, artist and friend. We ask for your prayers at this time for Natina’s family. She will forever be missed and her global influence eternally felt. We thank God for the experiences we shared.

Long fiancée and father of their son Kurupt, as well as Reed’s sister are in mourning, with the latter saying “Last night the world was changed forever, life will never be the same …. she was my sister.”

Reed had been a protégé of “Left Eye” of TLC, who ten years ago also died early, also at around the same age, 30.
