Clooney’s Phone Call from Jail Goes to Mom

George Clooney was arrested late last week for protesting in front of the Sudanese embassy in Washington D.C. He was arrested with a group of lawmakers and his own father. The group was protesting the decision by Sudan to stop aide from getting into the country. Clooney’s name has been in the news more often recently because of the arrest and everyone has wondered who received the first phone call from jail by George. The video embedded in this post is courtesy of TMZ, which talks to George about his trip to jail. There are some people who think maybe the first phone call was placed to his girlfriend, Stacy Keibler. Those people are wrong. Others think that possible the first phone call went to Clooney’s manager or lawyer or publicist. Those people are wrong too. According to Clooney, the first phone call was placed to his mother.

Clooney made the following comment when asked who received the phone call, “My mom. Something never changes.”

The reason for being arrested during the protest was that the protestors crossed police lines in front of the Sudanese embassy. Clooney told Ann Curry from NBC that the process of being arrested is ‘humiliating,’ but he has been very humorous about the entire ordeal, saying, “It was really rough, you can imagine.”
