Texas Inmate Given Go Ahead to be Executed by Supreme Court

The US Supreme Court has lifted a stay of execution for former Army recruiter and former Gulf War veteran Cleve Foster in Texas, who together with his roommate was given the death sentence in 2004 for murdering a woman named Nyanuer Pal in 2002. His lawyers had challenged whether his trial counsel had been adequate and questioned the legality of lethal pentobarbital injection. The state can now set another execution date. His lawyers are not giving up, with Maurie Levin stating that his conviction was “a travesty and unjust.”
