Embezzling Charges Given to Former Hospital General Counsel

Charges have been filed against the former general counsel of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for embezzling 1.7 million dollars. The prosecutors allege that Roosevelt Hairston Jr. used the money to buy luxury goods including a yacht and expensive cars. The charges against Hairston, who was fired in February under suspicion of financial wrongdoing, include mail fraud, money laundering, and filing a false tax return.
