Thompson Hine Partner Named Ohio FBA President

Thompson Hine partner Kip T. Bollin was installed as president of the Northern District of Ohio Chapter of the Federal Bar Association Wednesday, the firm said in a press release. The appointment ceremony and swearing in of the 2010-2011 officers and board of directors was scheduled to take place at the Carl B. Stokes U.S. Courthouse in Cleveland.

Bollin, a member of the firm’s product liability litigation, business litigation and life sciences practice groups, focuses primarily on the defense of complex product liability and business claims, including putative class actions. Prior to joining the firm, he was a law clerk to the Honorable Sam H. Bell of the Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division.

“I’m grateful and honored to be elected president of the FBA’s Northern Ohio Chapter,” says Bollin. “It’s the fastest-growing and most dynamic FBA chapter in the nation.”

Bollin also serves on the Rules Committee of the Advisory Group for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio and is a member of the Product Liability Committee and the Commercial Litigation Committee of the Defense Research Institute. In addition, he sits on the board of directors of The Free Medical Clinic of Greater Cleveland.

The Federal Bar Association is dedicated to the advancement of the science of jurisprudence and to promoting the welfare, interests, education and professional development of all attorneys involved in federal law. Its members include attorneys practicing in legal firms, attorneys in corporations and federal agencies, and members of the judiciary.
