First U.S. Trial Decision Over Chinese Drywall in Favor of Plaintiffs

U.S. District Court Judge Eldon Fallon of the Eastern District of Louisiana has ordered Taishan Gypsum Company, Ltd. to pay seven Virginia families a total of $2.6 million in remediation damages. Taishan is headquartered in Tai’an, China.

This is the first U.S. trial decision over Chinese drywall, which homeowners are now forced to removed because it emits noxious fumes, and corrodes wiring and plumbing.
