Novak Druce to Open Office in Philadelphia
Novak Druce Connolly Bove & Quigg announced that it is going to open an office in Philadelphia, according to the Philadelphia Business Journal. The firm said it will add Alfred Zaher to the office, a partner from Blank Rome.
Another partner, Shawn Shiqing Li, will also work in the office. Li comes from Houston and has experience with intellectual property. Zaher has worked as a partner at Blank Rome since 2006 and Li worked there from 2008 to 2013 before joining Dilworth Paxson.
There are more than 140 lawyers employed by Novak Druce. The firm said that the office in Philadelphia is part of their larger plan to increase its presence along the East Coast. The firm acquired Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz back in the fall of 2012. That firm was located in Wilmington.
Gregory Novak, the CEO and Managing Partner at Novak Druce said the following:
“Philadelphia is a hub of leading biotech and medical innovation that compliments our national practices in these areas, including our growing FDA practice,” Novak said in a statement. “Attracting Alfred Zaher and his team is the first of what we hope will be many groups to join our Philadelphia office.”
Zaher holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering science from the City University of New York, a graduate degree in electrical engineering from Drexel University and a degree from St. John’s University School of Law.
Li is a graduate of Peking University in China and earned his masters and doctorate degrees at New York University School of Medicine and his law degree from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
