For attorneys seeking in-house jobs in the academic sector, Los Angeles stands out on its own. There are 12 reputed law schools in the city and opportunities range from faculty positions to in-house attorney positions. In case of most job openings in a law school, whether that of an Assistant Dean of Marketing Communications or of an Assistant Dean of Career Services, attorneys always have a preference. So, for any Los Angeles attorney, finding academic jobs is much easier than for those living in cities with far fewer law schools, or none at all.

There are numerous openings in the academic sector for Los Angeles attorneys, as legal job boards would show to anyone interested. A quick glance shows a law school looking for a chief legal officer, whose basic purpose is to provide the services of a general counsel.
