HandshakeA select group of attorneys from Dallas will launch Stewart Dugger & Dean, a one-stop legal destination for hospitals, physician groups and other health care providers, in early 2011.

The firm will be led by health care industry veterans James M. “Mac” Stewart, Keith Dugger and Mitch Dean. The three experienced attorneys will open their new firm after winding down their current practices at Stewart Stimmel LLP and Dean & Dugger PLLC.

In today’s press release at PR Newswire, Mr. Stewart was quoted as saying: “Stewart Dugger & Dean will bring more than 50 years of pure health law experience to the table. Together, we know the health care industry from the inside out and we’re looking forward to putting that combined knowledge to work for all of our clients.”

Mr. Stewart has represented doctors, nurses, hospitals and other major health care companies for more than 30 years, and has been honored in The Best Lawyers in America and the Texas Super Lawyers list. Mr. Stewart has a track record of effectively representing some of the country’s most recognized health care providers.

Both Mr. Dugger and Mr. Dean have served as in-house counsel for large health care organizations, and provide clients with more than 20 years of combined experience in operational, regulatory and transactional health law matters. Their clients include national and regional hospital systems, Fortune 500 companies, physician groups and individual health care providers. In their current practice at Dean & Dugger PLLC, they regularly advise clients in a variety of areas, including anti-fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, EMTALA, Medicare/Medicaid, and licensure and certification. Based on their extensive work in health care law, both have been honored in the Texas Rising Stars list.
