President Obama has nominated former Patton Boggs partner Anne Slaughter Andrew to be US Ambassador to Costa Rica. Andrew is currently president of New Energy Nexus, an energy consulting company she founded. She also has served as a trustee for the Nature Conservancy. Andrew and her husband were involved in Obama’s election campaign. Records show that she donated $30,000 to various Democratc causes in the 2008 election cycle, and her husband Joe was a superdelegate from Indiana who, with great fanfare, switched his allegiance from Hillary Clinton to Obama five days before the Indiana primary.
