Summary: A production company said that Blac Chyna’s discovery process was too broad and asked a judge to limit it.

The production company that makes “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” said that it was unreasonable for Blac Chyna to ask them to hand over thousands of documents for her defense against her ex-fiance, Rob Kardashian.

The Blast reported that Bunim-Murray Productions was subpoenaed by Blac Chyna to submit docs as part of her defense against a lawsuit filed by Rob Kardashian and Kylie Jenner. On January 16, the production company, which has also produced hit shows such as the Real World, filed paperwork, pleading a judge to limit Chyna’s inquiry.

In Chyna’s subpoena, she demanded Bunim-Murray submit all documents that discussed her, Rob Kardashian, or other members of the Kardashian family. Bunim-Murray said that the request was so broad that it would take them an expensive legal team to give her what she asked for.

Bunim-Murray said that Chyna’s request ended up totaling to 185,000 documents. The production company said that it would take a team of three lawyers who were working full-time up to six months to give her what she wanted. They likened her broad search to a fishing expedition and pointed out that Rob Kardashian and Kylie Jenner had sued Chyna, not the other way around. They said that she was being unreasonable in her defense search and that they believed she was using this case to find evidence for a separate case against Rob Kardashian and his family.

Chyna sued her ex, Rob Kardashian, as well as every other member of his family, including Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Kendall Jenner. She eventually dropped most of the plaintiffs, and the updated lawsuit was just her versus Rob, Kim, and Kris.

Represented by attorney Lisa Bloom, Chyna claimed that the Kardashian family conspired to kill the second season of her reality show, “Rob and Chyna.” The show documented Chyna and Rob’s unconventional romance, but things hit a snag when the couple broke up. Their breakup was anything but amicable, and Chyna filed a restraining order against Rob.

The Kardashian family responded to Chyna’s lawsuit and said it was her restraining order and not them that got the show canceled. Recently a judge agreed and the case was temporarily dismissed.

While Chyna’s lawsuit against the Kardashian family looks to be dead or dying, Rob and Kylie Jenner’s lawsuit against her is still pending. The siblings are suing her for assault and vandalism. Rob claimed that Chyna tried to choke him at Kylie Jenner’s home, and the siblings said they were forced to sue her in civil court to pay for injuries Rob endured and to stop her from attempting to shake down the mega-famous and mega-wealthy family.

Bunim-Murray is seeking Chyna’s document search be limited and that she be sanctioned $12,000 for troubling the company.
