Woman Slaps Boyfriend for Comments about ‘Sex Toys and a Laptop’

Summary: A Florida woman was arrested for domestic battery after fighting with her boyfriend about a laptop and sex toys.

The owner of a ballet school in Florida was arrested for domestic battery Monday evening. The police report indicates the altercation between Lindsay Hensley-Clark and Chad Scerbo was “over sex toys and a laptop.”

The arrest affidavit states that Hensley-Clark, 38, hit Scerbo in the face during a fight late Monday night in her apartment in Palm Harbor, a Tampa suburb. A sheriff deputy said, “During an altercation over sex toys and a laptop, Lindsay and Chad got into a verbal argument. During that argument, Lindsay admitted to slapping Chad as she was upset over what Chad had said.”

The Smoking Gun reported the story, stating that there were no additional details about what the dispute was over.

Hensley-Clark was arrested on a misdemeanor dating violence charge. She was kept for 12 hours in jail before being released on her own recognizance yesterday. She pleaded not guilty to battery and has been given permission to maintain contact with her boyfriend.

Scerbo is the marketing advisor for the Tampa Ballet Theatre, a non-profit. Hensley-Clark is the president and artistic director of the theater. She also owns a ballet school, Tampa Bay Ballet, connected to the professional dance company.

The Tampa Ballet Theatre was recognized in March 2015 as the In-house Resident Ballet Company of Ruth Eckerd Hall. Per the ballet’s website, their mission “is to educate, entertain, and broaden the outlook of the community through the works of classical and contemporary ballet.”

Hensley-Clark graduated from the North Carolina School of the Arts and then attended and performed for many prestigious schools and companies. These include “School of American Ballet SAB, American Ballet Theatre ABT, New York Ballet Institute, Greenville Ballet, Asheville Ballet formerly Land of the Sky Civic Ballet, Charlotte Ballet formerly North Carolina Dance Theatre, Tampa Bay Ballet TBB and Tampa Ballet Theatre TBT.”
