Project Veritas Uncovers Gruesome Truths about Teacher Unions

Summary: Project Veritas films a union lawyer bragging about the worst case of teacher abuse he has had where the teacher’s only punishment was to resign from his job.

Unions – you either hate them or love them. They do a lot of good, protecting teachers from being taken advantage of but they are also the source of a lot of problems. Project Veritas aims at putting a focus on the bad so that they can be addressed and fixed.

In a recent video, Project Veritas highlights the ugly truth of how public school teachers are protected by their union lawyers, even when the safety of children is involved. Attorney-client privilege is a protection that needs to be protected. The problem is how a teacher accused of raping students can resign and completely escape prosecution.

In the video above, we learn about a teacher named Mike that was accused of holding a knife and gun to a student’s head, forcing the student to give the teacher oral sex. New York State United Teachers attorney Mitchell Rubenstein was given the task of protecting this teacher. Even though the teacher admitted to Rubenstein that he did have sexual contact with the student and the physical evidence became apparent that the teacher would go to jail, Rubenstein advised the teacher to resign.

With the teacher giving up his job willingly, there was no other punishment for the teacher to face. No one was made aware of the allegations except the union and student. The teacher was able to walk free without having to face criminal prosecution, which would have required the teacher to register as a sex offender. Instead, the union covered up the incident and let a sexual predator walk free. There is no telling what crimes the teacher may have committed since or the numbers of other students he has raped.

Do you think attorneys should be required to report certain cases of abuse to the authorities like other professionals are required to? Tell us in the comments below.
