Florida Gang Member Gives Weird Explanation for Fleeing

Summary: A Florida gang member that strolled right up to an officer with a blunt behind his ear gave the officer a strange explanation as to why he chose to run.

Police officers everywhere have heard all kinds of excuses from suspects that try to flee from them. Officer Joseph May in Clearwater, Florida may have heard one of the more odd ones from a known gang member.

Taurus Jabriel Brown approached May inside a Clearwater gas station. May recognized him as “a gang member from the community I work in.” The 19-year-old walked up to the officer and said, “I would like to be a police officer one day,” while shaking his hand.

May noticed something that appeared to be a marijuana blunt tucked behind Brown’s ear. “Is this weed?” May asked Brown. “How stupid are you?” May told him to place his hands behind his back but Brown “tensed, pulled away and attempted to run out of the front door.” May was prepared and took down the stupid gang member quickly.

Brown’s response: “D***, man, all this for weed. Wow, bro, you must want to make an arrest.” He then quickly changed his tune, adding, “I’ll plead guilty, I’ll go to court and plead guilty, please don’t take me to jail. Can you tell the judge I plead guilty?”

When May asked Brown why he started to run, the teenager replied, “I don’t like white people touching me, white people do weird stuff.” He then added, “Nah, I’m playing. I let you catch me.”

Brown’s last statement while being arrested was, “White people are weird as f***, doe.”

Brown was charged with the misdemeanor charges of marijuana possession and obstruction. He is held on $300 bond at the county jail.
