Bill Cosby’s Eyesight Appears to Be Worsening

Summary: Bill Cosby appeared to be losing his sight when he appeared in court this week.

On Monday, accused rapist Bill Cosby appeared in court, and Inside Edition reported that he appears to be going blind.

One of Cosby’s lawyers has already said that the once beloved comedian is legally blind, and at his appearance in Pennsylvania court, he needed help putting on his coat and walking upright. His attorneys said that his lack of sight makes it impossible for him to see his accusers.

Cosby faces a criminal rape trial in June. Former Temple University employee Andrea Constand said that in 2004 Cosby drugged and raped her. In 2006, they settled the case for an undisclosed sum out of court, but Philadelphia’s latest district attorney Kevin Steele reopened the case, filing the only current criminal charges against the comedian who has been accused of sexual assault by almost 60 women.

Prosecutors wanted 13 alleged victims to testify in court, but the judge only allowed one of them and Constand to take the stand. Prosecutors said that they wanted to use the 13 women’s statements to prove Cosby has a history of “bad acts” and his defense said that their “casting couch” statements added no relevance to the trial.

Judge Steven O’Neill ruled that one of the 13 could testify. The witness said that Cosby drugged and raped her in 1996. She was an assistant to one of his agents, and he had invited her to his home one afternoon to discuss her aspiring acting career. She said that is when he drugged her wine and sexually assaulted her in his bed.

Cosby has vehemently denied raping any of the accusers, but he has admitted to having sex with them. He stated that the sex was always consensual.

Cosby’s legal team said that he is a target of accusations because of his extreme wealth. He has pleaded not guilty to the rape charges and is currently out on bail.
