Summary: Who would have thought missing teeth would solve the case of a stolen truck so quickly? Yet that is exactly what happened.
A truck had been stolen from Marion County. A Lake County Sheriff’s Office deputy responding to calls of a suspicious individual attempting to enter homes spotted a woman trying to enter a gray Kia pickup truck in Lady Lake. The woman was missing her shoes and teeth – something the deputy thought was odd.
The deputy ran the plates and determined the truck was the stolen from a nearby county. He also spotted a pair of dentures and shoes inside the vehicle. The woman, Lindsey Jean Stanley-McShane, admitted the teeth and shoes were hers. The 31-year-old was immediately arrested for grand theft auto and possession of a stolen car.
The toothless woman claimed she was just a passenger in the truck and did not know who was driving. She says she was looking for lost items on the ground when the deputy pulled up. The truck had run out of gas, hence why it was just sitting there, otherwise she would still be driving.
Stanley-McShane has been arrested at least 12 times since 2007. Her most recent arrest includes possession of a controlled substance – cocaine.
