An Illinois woman decided that she wanted to get a full supply of condoms in one hit. Shaearion Davis, 25, was caught trying to steal 31 boxes of Trojan condoms from a supermarket. She was arrested for felony theft because the combined price of all the boxes exceeded $300.
Davis was caught at a Schnucks market in Swansea, Illinois, a town just east of St. Louis, Missouri. Supermarket employees spotted Davis hiding the condoms, alerting 911 and then following her around the store until cops arrived. Once Davis spotted the police, she dropped her condom loot and took off. She was quickly apprehended outside the business.
Davis was charged with felony retail theft for the attempted theft but added another charge after arrest – obstructing a police officer. Davis refused to allow jail personnel to photograph and fingerprint her so she was slapped with the additional misdemeanor charge.
She has been jailed on $50,000 bond and entered a not guilty plea. Her next preliminary hearing will be January 20. Her criminal history is filled with other theft convictions and outstanding arrest warrants.
It is unknown if the condoms were for herself or to resale.
