Dentons Announces New Leadership

Summary: Dentons has announced three new U.S. leadership appointments.

Effective January 1, Dentons will see some familiar faces take on new leadership roles in the organization. The world’s largest law firm released the news yesterday.

“This US leadership transition is the next step in our long-term strategy to grow, integrate and innovate as we build the law firm of the future,” Global Chief Executive Officer Elliott Portnoy said.

Dentons announced new appointments for Mike McNamara, Jeff Haidet, and Peter Wolfson.

U.S. Managing Partner Mike McNamara has been promoted to U.S. Chief Executive Office. He will join the Global Board and Global Management Committee.

McNamara joined Dentons in 2002, and he has served as U.S. Managing Partner for five years. During his tenure, he oversaw the merger with McKenna Long & Aldridge.

“Over the years, Mike has proven himself to be a remarkable leader whose energy and passion have steadfastly driven our Firm in the US,” Portnoy said.

U.S. Co-Chief Executive Officer Jeff Haidet has been named U.S. Chair. He will remain on the U.S. and Global Boards.

Before McKenna Long’s merger with Dentons, Haidet served as McKenna Long’s Chair for over a decade. According to the press release, his focus is on international and domestic transactions for corporate clients.

“Jeff has done an outstanding job expanding our cross-regional client service as Dentons’ reach has expanded around the globe,” Portnoy said.

U.S. Co-Chief Executive Officer Peter Wolfson will become a Global Vice Chair. He will remain on the U.S. and Global Boards.

Wolfson has over 30 years of experience representing asset purchasers, high-profile debtors, plan sponsors, and more. He joined Dentons in 2001, and after his promotion to Global Vice Chair, he will continue to practice law.

“We would not be the successful firm we are today without Peter’s steadfast leadership for more than five years,” Portnoy said.

According to Dentons’ website, “Dentons’ global team builds agile, tailored solutions to meet the local, national and global needs of private and public clients of any size in more than 125 locations serving 50-plus countries.”
