More People Stepping Forward, Claiming to be Prince’s Relatives

The battle of the late singer, songwriter, and overall music prodigy money is just beginning. RadarOnline.com reports that the mother of Prince’s supposed grandniece has stepped forward to claim her share of the $300 million estate.

Wisconsin lawyer Michael B. Padden presented an official letter to the presiding Minnesota judge on the case. Padden wanted the minor to be included in the proceedings but the child’s mother had not come forward so he wanted the court to appoint her a guardian.

The girl’s mother, Jeannine Halloran, has since come forward to file an “Affidavit of Heirship” and birth certificates to prove their family relation. The child’s father, Duane Joseph Nelson Jr., and grandfather, Duane Joseph Nelson Sr. are deceased. It is claimed that Senior is Prince’s half-brother.

Padden’s original filings stated, “Senior grew up together with Prince. Senior eventually became head of security for Prince through employer, Paisley Park, but he subsequently was terminated in the mid-90’s and became estranged from Prince.”

Nelson Sr.’s daughter has also filed paperwork to be part of the proceedings dividing his estate. Brianna Nelson claims to be Prince’s niece.  A number of other people have also stepped forward since Prince’s sudden death just weeks ago. Prince did not have a will, leaving his alleged heirs to battle it out in a Minnesota court for their share of his Paisley Park estate.
