How Dual-Degree Options Help Law School Graduates

Summary: John Marshall Law School and Saint Xavier University are the latest schools to join together to offer a dual-degree option for students.

Make yourself a more competitive law school graduate by earning a Master of Business Administration while earning your Juris Doctor degree. John Marshall Law School and Saint Xavier University have partnered together to offer the law and business program to students.

Through the program, students can earn an advanced degree in a shorter amount of time. The advanced degrees will help graduates become more versatile and have an in-depth knowledge on business matters in a job market that is constantly changing.

Dean John E. Corkery of John Marshall said, “Our new dual-degree program with SXU gives law students the opportunity to acquire business skills that will help advance their careers and give them an even greater edge in the job market.”

Dean Asghar Sabbaghi at the Graham School of Management at SXU said, “We are very excited that our students will have the opportunity to apply to this new dual-degree program. We do whatever we can to prepare our students to meet the demands of 21st century jobs, and the development of this new dual-degree program is a prime example.”

So how does the program work when law school is already filled with endless studying? The program allows students to be either full-time or part-time at John Marshall, adding up to 12 John Marshall credits to the MBA program and up to nine credits of business coursework to the law degree. Students graduate with two degrees in less time than it would take to receive them individually. All the classes necessary will be held on one campus at John Marshall.
